Dan Ostermiller oversees the installation of Oblivious, the Stark Museum's newest piece.

Dan Ostermiller, creator of the Stark Museum of Art’s new outdoor sculpture “Oblivious”, will be in town for the dedication of his piece, Thursday, March 4.

““Oblivious” has made a delightful addition to the Museum’s collections and it also serves to enliven the appearance of downtown Orange,” said Stark Museum Director Sarah Boeheme in a release.

A conversation with the artist will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Lutcher Theater. Boehme will talk with Ostermiller about his artistic process, his influences and his sculptures. There will be a time for audience questions. “This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist and learn about his artistic process,” said Boehme.

The program will include slides of other works by Dan Ostermiller and of the stages in making “Oblivious”, offering an insider’s view of sculpture.

A reception with refreshments will follow at the art museum.
Admission to the event is free and the public is invited.
