It was a pretty even mix when even years teamed up against odd years in the third annual Glenn Pearson Alumni Basketball Game in Cardinal Gym. Red downed White, 67-66, with less than 12 seconds on the clock.

Former basketball coach and retired BCISD superintendent Glenn Pearson coached the Red team with 1967 alumni player Daniel Ognoskie. 1981 Head Coach Al Barbe coached White made up of members of his former championship team.

After two grueling 10-minute quarters White led Red 39-37 at the break. Former BCHS principal Terry Stuebing provided the halftime color introducing the 1981 team and recalling their merits. The star of the show was Coach Barbre, however, the alumni presented him with a plaque and a handshake from Pearson.

Members of the 1981 Bridge City Cardinal basketball team were Bryan Ward, Richard Briggs, Roger Griffine, Walt Montet, Wendell Martin, Scott Taylor, David Ess, Bryan Foreman and Pat Godwin. Team manager was Kathy Patton.
