Peterson weds Stutes

Donna Kay Peterson and Clifton Joseph Stutes were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Friday, May 9 at the Garden District in Orange.  Army Chaplain and long-time friend Marv Howland officiated at the candlelight ceremony.

The bride is the owner of A-1 Peterson Plumbing in Orange and has four children. The groom, also from Orange, is a retired Navy Veteran and is retired from Polaroid Corporation as well. He has one son.

The bride wore a designer gown of lavender satin with Swarovski crystal accents and pearls and a matching capelet. Her bouquet was covered with lavender Roses, Gardenias and fragrant Hawaiian Tuberose. She was given in marriage by her eldest son, Bill Peterson. The bride was attended by her daughter, Army Major Donna Peterson, as maid of honor. The bride’s son, Richard Peterson, served as best man.

Hawaiian singer, Danny Couch sang “The Hawaiian Wedding Song” as the wedding party marched down the aisle. Connie Force registered the guests. Donnie Montgomery and Mike Anderson decorated the wedding car and chauffeured the wedding party. The Bride’s hair and makeup were done by Betsy Smith and Merle Norman in Orange.

A reception for guests was held at the Garden District immediately following the nuptials and a second reception was held at the Pompano Club in Port Neches.

Following the wedding the couple honeymooned for three weeks in Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii. They will reside in Orange where they have a home currently under construction.

Pre-wedding festivities included a bridal shower and bachelorette party held for the bride at Casa Ole, hosted by Donna Peterson and Maritza Caminero, and a pre-wedding cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
