The sweet taste of success!

The Orange County Go Texan committee tasted success as they participated in the Jefferson County Go Texan BBQ Cook-off on Jan. 9 and 10.

The cook-off was held at the Elk’s Lodge in Beaumont and kicked off Friday night with a dance.  The team walked away with 2nd place in the brisket division, 2nd place in the chicken division and 1st place in the rib division.

In addition to winning trophies in these three divisions they also won the ‘Best Overall’ trophy.

The next competition for the team will be the World Championship BBQ Cook-off in Houston on Feb. 26, 27 and 28.

All Orange County residents are invited to stop by their booth.

The Orange County Go Texan committee members are Glenn Hughes, Ambassador, and committeemen Melvin Croaker, Jerome Dimas, Guy Groves, Ed Mcintyre, Deven Michael, Frances Thompson, Bobby Fillyaw, Debbie, Britnell, Mindy McKee, Billy Burrow, Jan Bromley, Michael Barborek, and Mark Sepulvado.


Senior committeemen are Beth Rach and Pam Crew.

The cooking team is Chris Mercer, Corey Nelson and Doug Smith.

By supporting the Orange County Go Texas Team you will be helping us to ensure that at least one (1) Orange County High School Senior will be eligible for a $15,000 scholarship awarded by the Houston Livestock Rodeo.
