The city of Pinehurst is offering amnesty to persons who have outstanding warrants in the municipal court.

Starting March 23 and ending April 30, anyone with an outstanding warrant issued by the city of Pinehurst will have the chance to appear before the municipal court and make arrangements for amnesty. 

If the person complies with all of the arrangements made by the court all warrant, fees will be dismissed. This is a second chance to clear up warrants and each case will be handled on its own merits.

The city’s offer of amnesty will avoid the possibility of being arrested for an outstanding warrant should you be stopped on a traffic violation, and the warrant appears when the officer checks the validity of your license.

If it is discovered that you have an outstanding warrant in other circumstances, it is possible that you could be arrested on your job. Making the amnesty arrangements with the court will also be a step toward having a hold on your driver’s license renewal removed.

Court hours are Mondays at 3 p.m. and Thursday at 8:30 a. m. Court sessions are conducted by Judge Joe Parkhurst. Persons who believe they might have an outstanding warrant may call the court at 886-3873.
