One of Texas’ Top 10 Most Wanted apprehended in Mexico

Esequiel Rios Villareal, one of the Top 10 Most Wanted in Texas, was apprehended in Huetamo, Michoacan, Mexico on Aug. 11.

Villareal had been wanted in connection with the February 2006 murder of his wife in Houston.

An extradition proceeding to bring Villareal to the United States should occur sometime in the next 60 days.

Villareal had already served time in prison for murdering a man in Harris County in 1990.

Texas Crime Stoppers will give a $1,000 cash reward to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of these fugitives.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of any of these fugitives should call 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

The Crime Stoppers hotline is open 24 hours a day.

You do not have to give your name when calling.

DPS urges caution around these fugitives.

“Any fugitive should be considered armed and dangerous,” said Steven McCraw, director of the DPS. “You should never attempt to apprehend these fugitives yourself.”
