Robert Sullivan, manager of the Bridge City Walmart presented a check for $1,000 to Richard Solomon, chairman of the  ‘We Remember’ committee. Solomon said the donation will help with the presentation of the event planned on the anniversary of Hurricane Ike, Sept. 13.

Bridge City residents, key leaders and local business owners will come together to celebrate the power of hard work and partnership demonstrated post Hurricane Ike. “We Remember,” the one year anniversary for Ike, will take place from 1 p.m.-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Bridge City Community Center. There will be live music, special speakers, a slide show of pictures from Ike and activities for the family.

Christian country recording artist, Ronnie Yawn and White Horse will perform. Their music has a pure country sound with christian lyrics. White Horse is now on the charts of CCMG’s Top 50. They have played with such prominent names as Gene Watson, Merl Haggard, and Ricky Van Shelton.

Later in the day, Milestone will take the stage. They have members hailing from the Orange County area boasting over two decades of individual musical experience. Milestone is one of this area’s most diverse new cover bands. They play a variety of country, rock and blues.
