Burglary Suspects Arrested

There was a rash of burglaries in North Vidor neighborhoods Sunday. Numerous automobiles and a home were burglarized with an assortment of electronics and car stereo equipment among other items was stolen, including a firearm. 

Three juveniles and one adult were located and questioned about the burglaries. All four confessed to the burglaries and have been arrested. The firearm was recovered along with other items stolen from the burglarized vehicles. The juveniles were transported to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Justice Center in Beaumont. The names of the juveniles cannot be released.

The adult was identified as Charlie Salas IV, a 17 year old Vidor resident. Salas was charged with burglary of a habitation and transported to the Orange County Correctional Facility. Bond has been set at $25,000.

Beaumont Police contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department later that morning advising they had apprehended a white male suspect in Beaumont. The suspect was attempting to pass a check which had apparently been stolen from one of the burglarized vehicles in the Wexford Park neighborhood of Vidor.

The suspect, identified as Devan Lewis, an 18 year old Vidor resident, was arrested, transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and charged with forgery. Bond has been set at $25,000. Lewis has also been linked to the burglaries in Vidor.

This ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Vidor Police Department, and Beaumont Police Department. More arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
