Vidor Melvin “Ike” Young, 55, of Vidor died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at his residence in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Prien Memorial Park in Lake Charles at noon. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. 

Ike was born Sept. 1, 1954 in Lake Charles, La. to Joseph and Marion Young. Ike was a Marine Surveyor for Gulf Coast Surveyors. He was a longtime Vidor resident.

Ike is survived by his sons, Shane Young of Austin, James Young of Beaumont; daughter, Heather Grones of Scottsdale, Ariz .; brother, Don Young of Houston; sister, Jackie Fuselier of Fort Davis; and two grandchildren.
