Orange Luther Allen Sharpton, 80, of Orange, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Baptist Orange Hospital. Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory, at Luther’s request.

Luther was born on Aug. 5, 1929, in Orange County, but was a long time resident of Buna. Although he had little formal education he was well recognized as being top in his field of pipe inspecting. Luther and his family were all very proud of the home he single handedly constructed, and still lived in at the time of his death.

He is survived by his sons, Claude Allen Sharpton of Beaumont and Lyndon Kelly Sharpton of Buna, who was a devoted caretaker of his father in his final years.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of choice in his name.
