Orange William Percy Rush, 88, of Orange, died, Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at St. Mary Hospital.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.

Officiating will be the Rev. Scott McIntosh of North Orange Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

William was born on Dec. 22, 1921, in Gilbert, La.

He was the son of William Cheek and Susan (Wactor) Rush.

William was a deacon at North Orange Baptist Church.

He served in World War II and worked at Gulf Oil for 39 years.

William enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Susan Rush; wife, Katherine Rush; sister, Ruth Sowers; and brother, Charles Edward Rush.

William is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Connie S. and Daniel Wood, of Orange, Linda and Charles Huebel, of Bridge City; and grandson, Jared Wood, and wife, Suzanne.
