James T. “Tommy” Heath, 70, of Village Mills died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 29 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, May 28, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s Crematorium.

Tommy was born May 22, 1940, in Port Arthur, to Pete and Alma (Seymour) Heath. A resident of Village Mills for 37 years, he was a retired millwright with Local 2484 in Orange. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Heath of Village Mills; children, Tim Heath of Magnolia, J.T. Heath of Houston, Shannon Walter of Dallas, Kevin Horn of Village Mills, Stacy Jones of Austonia and Timothy Philmon of Helotes; sister, Helen Clark of Orangefield; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a special friend thought of like a son, Curtis Chatelain.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nelle Quimby; son, David Heath; and granddaughter, Bailey Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tommy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
