Humble
Gene L. Cox, 79, of Humble passed away Oct. 30, 2010 in Humble. Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 in the Claybar
Kelley-Watkins Chapel. A gathering of family and friends will be held
Friday, Nov. 5 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow
in the Haven of Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was born Dec. 11, 1930 in Coleman, Texas. A former resident of
Beaumont, he had resided in Humble for the past 15 years and was a
retired traffic coordinator for Mobil Chemical.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lyn Pink Crossland
and Dollie (Brown) Crossland; brother, Jimmy Cox; and daughters, Debbie
Miller and Karen Hale.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jewel Cox of Humble;
daughters, La Wanda Williams of Houston, Brenda Vogel and husband,
Jerome of Beaumont, Ladea Martin and husband, Marvin of Garrison; sons,
Danny Cox and wife, Becky of Beaumont and Billy Michael Igo and wife,
Denise of Humble; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
