The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Swim Team competed on Saturday, Nov. 13 with 11 teams at the Lufkin Invitational.

On the girls’ side Cassey Brown brought home a silver medal in the 500 yard freestyle and finished 7th in the 100 yard backstroke. Ivy Casteel finished 4th in the 50 yard freestyle and 6th in the 100 yard freestyle. Taylor Swarers swam two personal best times in the 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard backstroke. Overall the girls’ team finished 5th.

On the boys’ side Alex Dorman, seeded 2nd, dominated the 200 yard freestyle with a first place finish swimming a lifetime best of 1:57.39. Seeded 7th, he also earned the bronze medal swimming a lifetime best in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.54.

The team will travel on Friday, Nov. 19 to the Texas City Turkey Bowl.
