Pamela Renee May, 66, of Groves,Texas ended her brave battle with cancer surrounded by her husband and children on November 19, 2010. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral will be on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, TX. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Bell, CalvaryBaptistChurch and Southeast Texas Hospice Chaplain.

She was born on December 13, 1943 to Jack and Muriel Elaine (Lindholm) Thomas in Ottawa,Kansas and was raised by her grandparents, Walter and Sarah Lindholm in rural Baldwin,Kansas. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Ralph "Bob" May, Sr. on October 27, 1961 inBaldwin, Kansas.

Mrs. May graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin, Kansas and worked for many years as a purchasing agent in the industrial construction business where she excelled and took pride in her strong work ethic and attention to detail. She and her husband spent several years selling a variety of goods at flea markets and fairs throughout the area. Mrs. May will be best remembered for her generous spirit, creativity, beautiful custom jewelry designs and the legendary birthday parties she hosted for her children.

Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents; brother, Ronald L. Thomas, Sr. and nephew, Ronald L. Thomas, Jr.

Mrs. May is survived by her husband of 49 years, her daughter and son-in-law Lanie and Wally Brown of Orange, Texas; son, Ralph R. "Hoss" May, Jr. and his former spouse Jan May of Groves, TX; and son, Chad May and his fiance Happy Hardin of Groves, TX. Mrs. May was "Gee" to seven grandchildren, Catie Shafer, Laura Brown, LCPL John A. Brown, Hostin May, Tristan May, Bailey Shugart, and Blakely Shugart, and five great-grandchildren Rhys Howeth, Isaiah Shafer, Asher Shafer, Gracie Brown, and Marshall Shafer. She was very much looking forward to the birth of her 8th grandchild, Tolben May in January 2011.

Mrs. May was also survived by her beloved Aunt Pat Gilges, Uncle Duaine and Aunt Donnie Lindholm and dear "sister-friends" Joan Christian and Cheryl Robinson, all of Baldwin, KS as well as several cousins, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jose Fuentes, Neal Landry, Joey Nicoltre, Ron Beasley, Bennie Epperson, and Bo Thornton. Honorary pallbearers will be Wally Brown, Rick Shafer, LCPL John A. Brown, Hostin May, Tristan May and Dr. David Simonak.
