Johnnie McClure Turner, 83, of Orange, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Feb. 24.

A

graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27, at

Autumn Oaks Cemetery with Pastor Herbert Thompson officiating.

Family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Johnnie

was born to Onnie Dean Turner and Ruby May Turner on March 20, 1927 in

New Orleans, La.. After Johnnie graduated from High School in 1944 in

Vernon, Ala., he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and the Korean

War. Johnnie attended the University of Alabama prior to his employment

with DuPont at Sabine River works in Orange. Johnnie retired as an

electrician after 33 1/2 years of service. Johnnie enjoyed fishing,

hunting and traveling taking his family on great vacations. Johnnie was a

loving husband and father and grandfather, whom his family and friends

will miss very much.

Johnnie

is survived by his wife, Dorothy C. Turner of 63 years, his two sons

John “Terry” Turner, Ronald Dean Turner and his wife, Jill of Orange;

daughter, Melissa Ruth Lange and her husband Randy of Sugar Land; five

grandsons, Shon Turner of Austin, Brandon Turner of Conroe, Dustin

Turner of Orange and Aaron and Evan Lange of Sugar Land.

Dad and Gran Gran is our hero.
