The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce has announced the Employee and Business of the Month for March.

Jennifer Mott was awarded mployee of the month for March 2011. Jennifer is a very strong part of the staff at Wayside Florist, and Wayside is very lucky to have someone like Jennifer. She was raised right here in Bridge City, attended school her and stayed to live, work and raise her family. She has a heart that has enough love for not only her family but also her job and her customers. Jennifer loves prom and homecoming time each year, she works to make each Bridge City and Orangefield student look their best for an evening out and also showing their school spirit.

Business of the Month was awarded to the Grounds Department of Bridge City ISD. Per the anonymous nominator “The department has always gone above and beyond what is considered their job description. They not only have kept the grounds at all of the BCISD campuses looking great but they have exceeded the expectations of the coaching staff with their attention to excellence on the playing fields.” During the past football season the field was painted with huge pink ribbons at one of the games to recognize the courageous fight for breast cancer. The night was quite remarkable and emotional.
