The Orange County AgriLife Extension has announced its Hope for Health Expo and 5K run/walk, will be held Nov. 5, at the Carl Godwin Auditorium, located at 202 Western Ave., in West Orange. On site registration, and packet pick-up will begin at 8:00 am.

At 9:00 Helen Phillips from the television show The Biggest Loser will give an inspirational speech on living healthy and will also give awards for the “Healthy Lifestyle Weight Loss Challenge”, followed by the 5K run/walk at 10:30 am.

Registration is still going on and participants are encouraged to get signed up soon for the weight loss challenge. For information call 882-7010 or visit www.hopeinorange.comlink.

Participants will receive a t-shirt, packet, finisher medals, chip timing and possible door prizes.

Awards will be first through third in the male and female age groups, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and up. There will also be overall winners in the male and femal groups, and overall masters in the 50 and up male and female groups.

Sponsors are also being sought for the event on various levels.

All funds raised for the event will support diabetes education and prevention programs for adults and children.
