Avis Brittain Moss, 70, of Joaquin, passed away Feb. 5, in Nacogdoches.

She was born June 7, 1941 in Selby County to John Willis Brittain and Tennie Buckley Brittain. Mrs Moss was a member of First Methodist Church on Joaquin, where she served as a pianist.

Visitation will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Strong Cemetery in Center with Bro . Randy Smith and Bro. Russell Duplantis presiding.

Palbearers will be Davis A. Brittain, Lane McDonalds, Johnny Brittain, Ronny Brittain, Harrell Guidry, William Guidry, Adrian "Big A" Cain and Landon McDonald. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Dent, Kenny Dent, Billy Hearnsberger, P.H. Newton, Tommy Miller, Frank Jousan, Jason Gill, Bill Skinner, Mike Wood, Glenn Gill and Sammy O"Rear.

She is survived by: husband, Barney Moss of Joaquin; sons, Craig Moss of Joaquin, Buddy Moss and wife, Patti of Bridge City; daughter: Ginger McKinzie of Beckville, and brother, J.I. Brittain and wife Pauline of Aztec, NM.

Preceded in death by sisters, Mary Miller, Cora Cruse and Marie Goings; brothers, Davis Brittain and Tye B. Brittain; son-in-law: Mark McKinzie.

Other family members include, Tommy Miller, Mike & Lavonne Wood,Harrell Guidry, Debbie and Randy Dennis; and special friends, Shirley Haymon, Joyce Metciaf, Janice Churchman, LVN of Texas Home Health in Carthage.
