March 24 was a red-letter day for Bridge City High School’s English teacher Mrs. Diane Grooters.

The same day her UIL Literary Criticism Team swept district was also the day she received the news she had been awarded the Reaud Excellence in Education Award by the Beaumont Foundation.

Grooters has been on BCHS’s campus for a few years, but has become one of our students’ favorites.

She has so many life experiences she shares with her students and she certainly expects students to reach beyond their potential. Grooters will be honored at a reception, May 2, at Lamar University.
