An Orange man was killed Thursday when he hit an 18-wheeler head on while he was traveling the wrong way on Hwy. 73 in Port Arthur.

Carl David Owens, 56, or Orange was driving a Subaru SUV and traveling the wrong way on Hwy. 73, when he struck the semi.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was on the overpass at Hwy. 82 and couldn’t avoid the collision. According to police, it’s possible that the driver of the 18-wheeler didn’t see the SUV approaching.

The driver of the 18-wheeler wasn’t injured.
