Officers from the Pinehurst Police Department responded to the following calls between March 23 and April 11:

March 23, Officer L. Roff of the Pinehurst Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Strickland Drive. During the course of the traffic stop he recovered two industrial vacuum cleaners that had been taken without permission from a Pinehurst business.

March 24, Officer R. Strause of the Pinehurst Police Department responded to a traffic accident on Strickland and W. Park.

March 25, Officer R. Strause responded to a minor motor vehicle accident in the 2400 block of MLK Jr. Drive.

March 26, Officer R. Strause was patrolling the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 3000 MacArthur Drive when he noticed a vehicle with the interior dome light illuminated. Upon locating the owner he discovered that someone had rummaged through the vehicle but had removed no property.

April 1, Officer R. Strause responded to an accident in the parking lot of a shopping center in the 100 block of Strickland Drive.

April 2, Officer R. Strause responded to a theft call at a trailer park located at 3609 W. Park. The caller advised someone had removed a ring from her residence while she was in the process of moving from the residence.

April 3, Officer B. Foley responded to a disturbance at a trailer park located at 3609 W. Park. A white male was issued a criminal trespass warning and made to leave the residence.

April 4, Officer B. Foley conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of E. Martin. The driver, Taylor Rene Burgess, a 23 year-old white female, was subsequently arrested for two outstanding warrants issued by the West Orange Municipal Court.

April 5, Lt. K. Reneau responded to a retail store located in the 2700 block of MacArthur Drive in reference to theft. The complainant stated that someone removed a reciprocating saw from behind the store where it was being used to cut wooden pallets. The saw has a retail value of $60.00.

April 6, Officer B. Foley responded to a beauty supply store located in the 2200 block of MacArthur in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that a black female entered the store and asked to see a particular wig that was behind the counter. When she was given the wig, the customer ran out of the store without paying for it. The property is valued at $50.00. The theft was captured by a surveillance camera and charges are pending against the suspect.

April 10, Officer L. Roff spoke with a complainant in reference to injury to a child. A white female reported that her son, who suffers from a form of autism, was found to have 3 scratch marks on his forearm he claims to have received while in school. The investigation continues.

April 10, Chief Fred R. Hanauer III detained a white male on 28th Street whom he thought was a student in violation of the City of Pinehurst curfew ordinance. He identified himself as Charles Anthony Balismo. Dispatch advised he had five outstanding warrants issued by Vidor and Bridge City Municipal Courts and County Court at Law. He was arrested and transported to the jail for booking.

April 11, Officer L. Roff of the Pinehurst Police Department was dispatched to a financial institution located in the 1900 Strickland Drive in reference to counterfeit bills. An amount of counterfeit U.S. Currency was discovered by a teller at that location.
