Orange man injured by gunshot

Friday, April 13, at 11:50 pm, Orange police responded to a report of shots being fired in the 200 block of Azalea.

At 11:52, an officer who was en-route to the scene observed a subject running in the area of Bluebonnet and Camellia being followed by three other subjects. This subject, a 32 year old male, advised that he had been shot. The officer observed the man to have a gunshot wound to his lower back.

The Orange Fire Dept. and Acadian Ambulance responded to the location to assist. The man was transported to Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Orange. He was transferred by Southeast Texas Air Rescue helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment. According to a report by Capt. C.A. Stephenson, the man’s condition is unknown at this time.

The investigation into the shooting is on-going by the detective division of the OPD.
