OllieV Pitre, 97, of Orange passed away Friday, April 13, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange with the the Rev. Stephen McCrate of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Abbeville, LA., on July 2, 1914, Mrs. Pitre was the daughter of Oliver and Ophelia (Renard) Blanchett. She enjoyed cooking, and loved cooking for her family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for 75 years and was a member of their senior group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Pitre, Sr.; five brothers; and four sisters.

Mrs. Pitre is survived by her son, Joseph Pitre, Jr. and wife Sandra of Orange; daughter, Sister Josephina Pitre O.P. of Houston; grandchildren, Lisa Pitre of Orange, Troy Pitre and wife Diane of Liberty, Ryan Pitre and wife Julie of Liberty; great-grandchildren, Tyson Pitre of Liberty, Carrie Ingalls of Crosby, Dalton Pitre and Kendall Pitre, both of Liberty; and great great-grandchildren, twins Jamie Ingalls and Gracie Ingalls, and Tyson Joseph Pitre and wife Alisa.
