Tanker truck rolls over affecting traffic on N. Hwy. 87

A tanker truck rolled over Thursday evening while the driver was trying to position the truck to unload fuel at the Diamond Shamrock, in the 3900 block of N. Hwy. 87. No injuries were reported when the 8800 gallon tanker rolled over.

The City of Orange Fire Dept. responded to the scene, while Orange police and TXDOT diverted traffic. Acadian ambulance and the Red Cross also responded and was on stand-by and was prepared in case there should be an evacuation. No evacuation was needed.

The vehicle was partially unloaded, then up righted. Responding agencies were on the scene of the accident until 8:30 am Friday.

No evacuation was needed, although the up righting of the truck affected traffic when the wrecker used needed to block all lanes of traffic.
