An orange man was arrested on failure to identify charges Thursday, after giving police the wrong name.

Officer Caleb Davis filed a report saying that while investigating a robbery, in the area of Cypress Ave., and 1st St., he observed two males wearing all black clothing standing in the shadows. Both subjects were in the area of the robbery, so Officer Davis made contact with the two men,

The first man Davis made contact with identified himself as Hassan Bell, who was said to have a possible warrant against him. The second man was only identified as Chargouis, who left the scene after being identified.

When Bell was asked his date of birth, he gave a date, then quickly changed it. Communications confirmed Bell had an active warrant, and he was taken into custody. Upon arrival at the Orange County Jail, Officer Davis compared book-in photos of Hassan Bell and the subject he had in custody.

The photos showed that the man was identified as Kenny Ray Bell, 27, of Orange. Bell was charged with failure to identify as a fugitive from justice, and the outstanding warrant.
