A man who was listed as a person of interest in the aggravated robbery of a 16 year old female last Friday evening has been apprehended. Kevin Scott Holmes was arrested at 7:40 pm Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Kwik Stop convenience store, located in the 1400 block of Strickland Dr. in Pinehurst.

Officers Leonard Roff and Aaron Pollock located Holmes, who was a passenger in a vehicle at that location. Holmes is being held on an unrelated theft charge out of Jefferson county. Formal charges are pending for the robbery.

Information is still being gathered as to the involvement of a white female who was with Holmes at the time of the alleged incident. She also has been identified by Pinehurst Police.

Chief Hanauer credits the citizens of Orange County for the many tips provided as to Holmes’ whereabouts as well as the diligence of his officers in the capture of Holmes. The West Orange and Orange Police departments assisted in his arrest. Hanauer added, “A crime of this magnitude cannot be taken lightly and we will do all we can to see that those who commit these crimes are held accountable.”
