Lancie “Pill” Peet Nixon, 64, of Bridge City went to be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ peacefully at her home on Saturday, Nov. 3. “Pill” was born on Oct. 02, 1948 to parents Willie Mae (Bland) and Oscar J. Peet Sr. She was raised in Orange and graduated from Stark High School.

She was an avid housewife and loved cooking, sewing, hunting, fishing and camping. She started camping with her family as a young child; which her and Johnny continued and enjoyed. She loved spending as much time as possible at their camp house in Bon Wier on the river.

She was proud to be a Texan, and of her heritage, being born a Peet and Bland. She loved getting together with her family and cooking all kinds of food, and her number one ingredient was love. Her niece, Ginger, loved and could never get enough of her banana pudding. Her and Johnny’s retirement plans were to travel the United Sates, this great country of ours.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Willie Peet; sister, Oleta J. (Peet) Simmons, and brother, John D. Peet.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Nixon of Bridge City; son, Sean Nixon of California; sisters, Cora M. (Peet) Lilley and husband, Arnold of Bridge City, Sue A (Peet) Williamson of Orange; brother, Oscar J. Peet Jr. and wife, Carey of Little Cypress; sisters in law, Sandra Whitten of Longview, Jane Sanders and husband, Morris of Bridge City, Brenda Standley and husband, Herb of Pasadena; 16 nephews and three nieces. Also survived by the most cherished and loved person in her life her granddaughter, Ava Nixon.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Dorman Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Bland Cemetery in Orange.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Whitten, Scott Whitten, Shannon Sanders, Ryan Sanders, Jeff Standley, Jeremy Ashcraft and Morris Sanders.

“Pill” is very much loved and will be missed dearly by her family, friends and relatives; and her dog.
