Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School hosted Boston College and the Cleveland Browns running back, William Green on Tuesday morning. The presentation is called Champions for Life and is sponsored by the Golden Triangle Business Men’s Organization.

Green talked to the students about the importance of making right choices, staying drug-free, and doing the right thing. His message was a personal one, in which he shared the story of how he lost his father and mother to the consequences of his father’s drug addiction.

He stressed the importance of making a U-turn if a person finds he or she is on the wrong path and emphasized the point by bending a steel rod into a “U” shape that he had just used to lift two girls from the audience off the ground. According to Green, what makes the difference in people is that, “Losers look at what they are going through; winners look at the goal.”

William was the number one running back in the USA. At Boston College University, he is the All-Time leading rusher and was selected to the College All-American Team. During the NFL draft, he was the top-rated running back and was the first running back taken in the first round of the NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns.

His first year with the Browns he was the team MVP, the leading rusher, and the strongest and fastest player on the team. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds. William stands 6'2" tall, weighs 230 pounds, squats over 800 pounds, has a 46inch vertical jump, and bench presses 415 pounds.
