Graveside funeral services for Don Lowe, 83, of Orange will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Lone Star Cemetery near Pineland. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.

Don passed away Dec. 21, at Christus-St. Mary's DuBuis Hospital in Port Arthur. A native of Pineland and a former resident of Port Neches & Newton, he was a 1947 graduate of Pineland High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and then worked in New Mexico with an exploration company.

He returned to Southeast Texas to work until his retirement. Afterwards, he worked part-time in maintenance with Shady Acres Nursing Home. He enjoyed fishing in the creek, riding his 4-wheeler and horses.

Survivors include a son, Richard Lowe of Port Neches; two daughters, Grace Huff and husband Charlie of Bridge City, Donna Morgan and husband Vernon of Groves; sister June Carr and husband Robert of Beaumont; aunt Dixie Becton of Spring; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Don is also survived by a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Maye Lowe.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society .
