The City of Orange Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 2110 International yesterday at 4:44PM. The first arriving engine crew was on scene in less than two minutes and reported fire from the rear and heavy smoke coming from the eves of the residence.

The family was safely outside when fire crews arrived. The fire was quickly extinguished yet the home received heavy damage. Fire damage was concentrated in a bedroom and smoke damaged the other areas of the home.

One fire Captain that led the initial attack was slightly injured. He was treated on the scene by Acadian Ambulance Service and released to return to fight the fire.

The cause of the fire was determined to be unintentional but the exact cause is still under investigation. The family will not be able to live in the house because of the extensive damage. They are currently staying with local family members.
