Donald Edward “ Don ” McCluskey

Donald Edward “ Don ” McCluskey, 63, of Orange, passed away Thursday, March 14, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Orange after a long struggle with illness. Born on Sept. 26, 1949 in Carrollton, MS., to his parents, Edward William McCluskey and Dorothy (Bailey) McCluskey. He lived in Orange for over 30 years, and had previously lived in Baton Rouge.

He was of the Baptist faith, and owned and operated Shelby’s Coffee Service in Orange. Don enjoyed drinking coffee with friends and fishing. He was a family man and was very generous to those in his life; and he will be most remembered as being a quintessential Southern man.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Harold Leigh.

Those who will most cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Eloise Prudhome McCluskey of Orange; daughter, Susan McCluskey Williams; son, Eddie Edward McCluskey and wife, Stephanie, all of Miami, Ok; sister, Martha Ferguson and husband, Steve of Chattanooga, Tn; brother, Franky McCluskey and wife, Sherry of Carrollton; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous members of his extended family.


Services by which to remember Don’s life will be at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. A gathering of Don’s family and friends will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services.

Honorary pallbearers are Colby Lesher, Eddie McCluskey, Zack Leigh, Kyler Brown and Trey Kessell.
