A Vidor man was arrested for narcotics, Tuesday, April 2, when narcotics with OCSO were leaving a restaurant in the 12,000 block of FM 1442. As the officers walked toward their unmarked vehicle, they passed a Dodge truck with a white male inside.

One of the deputies looked inside the truck, which was parked next to his unmarked police car, and saw the occupant of the truck preparing to inject a syringe filled with white liquid into his arm. The man looked up and saw the deputy, and asked "What's up?"

The deputy removed the subject from the truck and placed him in handcuffs. The man, who was identified as 42 year old Shane Lane Hite, of Vidor, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (Hydromorphone, or Dilaudid), and transported to the Orange County Jail. His bond was set at $250,000.
