Ollie Mae “ Peggy “ Bean Alford, 87, of Deweyville, passed away, Tuesday, May 21, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Born on Dec. 25, 1925 in Orange, to her parents, William Henry Teal and Ruby Josephine (Stockman) Teal, she was a longtime resident of the area. She was of the Christian faith, and a homemaker.

Peggy was a member of the Oak Grove Tabernacle in Hartburg, and she also attended Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville. She will fondly be remembered for working in her yard, growing flowers, making jelly, and for her love and the helping of others. Most of all in her life, Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bob Wyatt; second husband, Johnnie Griffin Bean; third husband, Abner J. Alford; brother, William Hoy Teal, and her half brothers, Homer Teal, Wallace Teal and Herbert Teal.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her sons, Orville Wyatt and wife, Georgia, Johnny Carroll Bean and wife, Cindy, all of Dallas, Ga., and Gary Allen Bean of Deweyville; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Services by which to honor her life will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 26, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother John Fortenberry and Brother Bill Burch. Rite of committal and Interment will follow services at the Sudduth Bluff Cemetery, in the Nichols Creek community in Newton County.

A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Honoring Peggy as pallbearers are Mike Dickerson, Hoy Teal, Jr., Keith Pearl, Jas Ebner, Kurt Ebner and Justin Ebner.
