A Bridge City man is the person investigators believe shot and killed two Groves residents Sunday at McFaddin beach.

The shooting appears to orginate from the termination of a relationship between Lauren Michelle Brack, 31, of Groves and Eric Omar Barragan, 32, of Bridge City. Also killed at the beach was Regino Antonio Maybit, Jr., 34, of Groves, according to Deputy Rod Carroll, of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. After shooting the couple, the gunman turned the gun on himself.

At approximately 4:39 p.m. Sunday, the dispatchers received several 911 calls in reference to the shooting in progress.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the gruesome scene. The case is ongoing and they are asking for additional information. Anyone that was present on the beach and witnessed the shooting to contact the detectives division at 409-835-8411.

An autopsy has been ordered by Justice of the Peace Marc Derouen.
