Bridge City Chamber Ambassador Scot C. Shaffer presented Karen Boden, secretary at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, with the Employee of the Month Award. Boden’s family and friends joined her at the award presentation.

The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce announced Karen Boden as their employee of the month at their monthly networking coffee held at the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce & Historical Museum located at 150 West Roundbunch in Bridge City.

Boden has been employed by St. Henry Catholic Church for the past eight years in several positions and has been full time secretary for five years, most recently adding Coordinator of Elementary Education to her work in the Religious Education Department.

Ms. Robbi Green, the Director of Religious Education kept seeing the employee of the month honors awarded by the Bridge City Chamber in the Penny Record and on Facebook and always thought of Karen for this great honor.

In her nomination Robbi states “Karen is much more than a secretary, she does everything going out of her way to do whatever is needed. You can always count on her to do not only her job but whatever else she sees that needs to be done. And always with a smile. She is a jewel, a friend and a coworker.”

Family and friends joined with the chamber in honoring another of our community’s greatest natural resource; an invaluable employee.

Boden received a plague sponsored by David Self Ford along with gift certificates donated from the following local chamber members: Michele Michelle Day Spa, Tiger Rock Martial Arts and David Self Ford.
