The Mauriceville Middle School cheerleaders recently attended National Cheerleaders Association camp at Stephen F. Austin University.

At camp, MMS received a trophy for being named Game Time Top Team, the Herkie TEAM Award, awarded to squads who exemplify the qualities upon which NCA was founded: leadership, values, and teamwork, Herkie Team plaque, National Championship Bid, and all blue, superior ribbons on evaluations. The girls were also all given a blue, superior ribbon to take home for this.

Madison Murdock, Karlie Morgan, Andrea Howard, Taylor Malone and Madalyn Blackshear were nominated for All-American Cheerleader. The mascot, Lilli Fair, was named an All-American mascot and was given the “prop artist” award. MMS cheer coaches are Heidi Strandberg and Amy Bryant.
