MMS football teams victorious

Mauriceville Middle School Football teams played at Bridge City on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The “B” team came away with a 20-0 win to improve to 2-0 on the season. Kristian Ickes, Chris Glassey, and Chance Dillon each scored a touchdown while Braden Bridges, Hunter Padon, Lain Harvey, and Dawson Mayfield were defensive standouts. The Panthers will take on the Legacy Warriors next Thursday at MMS.

The “A” team notched their first win with a 22-6 victory to go to 1-1. Cameron McIlwain scored on a 65 yard run, Chris Dyson plunged in for a 3 yard TD, and Christian Weatherly connected with Tristan Rhodes for a 77 yard TD pass. AJ Pope and Lucas Russell both had a big night on the ground behind Zach Robin, Colt Lebleu, and the Panther line. Defensive standouts were Zach Robin, Conner Ingram, and Grant LaCour. The Panthers will travel to Jasper to take on the Bulldogs next Thursday.
