Two arrested on charges of human trafficking and kidnapping

On Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, The Lake Charles Police Department was advised of a missing 19 year old female from Huntsville, Ala. that was reported in the Lake Charles area. According to the victim’s mother, her daughter had been missing since Friday, Sept. 20, 2013. She stated that her daughter was being held in Lake Charles against her will and being threatened with both her life and her family’s life if she tried to leave. Sgt. Michael Whitfield, Officer Tyler Gatson, and Detective Larry Newingham verified that a missing (endangered) person’s report was on file with Huntsville Police Department.
An investigation revealed that the victim left Huntsville, Ala. freely with both suspects but once they arrived in Beaumont, the victim’s phone was taken away from her and she was given a “GO” phone. The victim was shown her personal web page on an internet site advertising her as an escort and was told she would provide escort services for men. After one night in Beaumont, the victim and both suspects traveled to Lake Charles, La. Once in Lake Charles, the suspects established another personal web page advertising the victim as an escort in the Lake Charles area.
After fearing for her life, the victim contacted her mother and advised her of her location and movements in an attempt to obtain help in escaping from the suspects.
Lake Charles Police Officers worked with the parents and were able to locate the victim and safely secure her uninjured. The victim was later released to her parents.
Both suspects were later located in a local hotel where they were arrested by Sgt. Michael Whitfield, Officer Tyler Gatson, Officer Dennis Shriver and Det. Larry Newingham. Suspects were booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on Simple Kidnapping and Human Trafficking charges.
Det. Newingham is handling the investigation with Lt. David Anders assisting.
The suspects are Ivory Charles Pantallion III, 33, of Beaumont. He has been charged human trafficking and simple kidnapping with bonds totalling $1 million and Jessica Lynne Morgan, 24, of Shelbyville, Tenn. with bonds totalling $500,000 for charges of human trafficking and simple kidnapping.
