Disney's Beauty and the Beast returns to the Lutcher

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the smash hit, full-length Broadway musical, is returning to the Lutcher Theater for two performances, Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 PM, and Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 PM. Tickets range from $35-$65 and are on sale now at www.lutcher.org or by calling the Lutcher Box Office at 886-5535.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beastis the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince under a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

This production is based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, and has been expanded into a full-length Broadway musical, complete with technical wizardry, special effects and illusions, and dazzling production numbers. It includes the same award-winning musical score by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs, which did not appear in the film. A full cast of 30 with live orchestra and a healthy dose of Disney Magic bring the show to life in spectacular fashion.

This eye-popping spectacle has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including “Be Our Guest” and the beloved title song.

Adults and children of all ages enjoy this timeless love story full of romance, adventure, humor, magic, mystery and suspense. It provides a way to introduce children to the wonders of Broadway entertainment, but has appeal for all audience members, male and female, young and old.
