Millie Gordy, 77, of Orangefield, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be the Rev. Jacob Fitzgerald of First Baptist Church in Zavalla. A graveside service will be at 3:30p.m. at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills.

Born in Village Mills, on Dec. 9, 1936, Millie was the daughter of James Ellis Overstreet and Ebbie (Mullins) Overstreet. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved playing dominos and hunting and fishing with her husband. Millie will be sadly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her father James Overstreet; mother, Ebbie Overstreet Pearson; stepfather, Tommy Pearson; son, Gerald Edmond Wiggins; brother, Bill Overstreet; and sisters, Alma Jewel Stephenson and Lottie Behannan.


Millie is survived by her husband, D.M. (Delbert) Gordy of Orangefield; children, Wayne Wiggins and wife Sheryl of Orange, Rhonda Ladner Fayard, Rudy Ladner and Jeannine, Randy Ladner and wife, Valerie, Russell Ladner and wife Stephanie, Ronnie Ladner and Mandy, all of Lakeshore Ms, Deborah Wells, Pamela Milligan, Quentin Gordy, and Brian Gordy all of Orange.

She is also survived by her three oldest grandchildren, Clayton Ladner and wife Jill, Ashley Wiggins and Joel Wiggins, and 21 other grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and sisters Lois Powell and her husband Pete, formerly of Orange, and Pauline Dixon and husband Charles of Mauriceville.
