Nancy Marie Gerrish Creel, 64, of Orange, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Born Nov. 28, 1949 in Orange, to Stanley Gerrish and Thelma Octavin (Nation) Gerrish, she was a lifelong resident of Orange. She worked as a waitress most recently at Waffle House in Orange, where she retired in 2010. Nancy was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed working puzzles - both crossword and word search, playing bingo, sewing, and spending time spoiling her grandchildren.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her sons, Bobby Nichols of Pasadena, and Hershel Hoffpauir of Orange; stepfather, Tommy Vercher of Orange; sister, Susan Peddy of Woodville; brother Malcolm Gerrish of Orange; grandchildren, Devin Hustoft, Justice Nichols and Iyana Hoffpauir. Nancy is also survived by numerous members of her extended family.

Services to honor her life will be at 2:00 P.M.Friday, Feb. 21, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, with the Rev. Larry Doucet, officiating. Rite of committal and interment will follow services, where she will be laid to rest at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers are Arthur Rabago, Roy Maricle, Justin Granger, Warren Morris, Joe David Vercher, Sr. and Joe David Vercher, Jr.
