On Thursday, March 20, 2014, around 11:33 p.m., an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy
patrolling the 9000 block of FM 105 in Orangefield, Orange County, Texas, observed a black
Chevy truck pass another vehicle in a no passing zone and accelerating at a high rate of speed.
The Deputy attempted to stop the truck for the traffic violations, but the truck continued
without stopping in an attempt to elude the Deputy. Speeds reached as high as 85 mph in a

the suspect realized he could not climb the damaged fence. The suspect continued his attempt to
get away from the Deputy, however, the Deputy managed to get close enough to the suspect to
deploy a Tazer and bring the suspect into custody.
