The Deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle parked vehicle in the 500 block with a male and white female occupant. When the Deputy approached the vehicle, he noticed the subjects shuffling around inside. It appeared to the Deputy that they were trying to hide something in the front floorboardor under the seats.

When the Deputy walked up to the vehicle, he noticed a small plastic baggie, which is commonly used to contain narcotics, in plain view on the console. The Deputy said he could also smell a strong odor of what smelt like a chemical burning. When the male who was seated on the driver’s seat was asked to step out of the vehicle, the Deputy saw him drop a plastic baggie that contained a crystal like substance, recognized by the Deputy to be methamphetamine.

The driver, Darryl Bergeron, a 31 year old white male of Vidor, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The female occupant was not arrested. Bergeron was booked into the Orange County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Degree Felony. Bergeron was arraigned on Sunday, March 23, 2014 and his bond was set at $5,000. Bergeron was able to bond out of jail and is no longer in custody.
