Lamar baseball coach Jim Gilligan, who ranks as one of the winningest coaches in college baseball history, will be part of a college baseball panel at this week’s Society for American Baseball Research Convention at Royal Sonesta Hotel in Houston.

The panel is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday at the Legends ballroom, and is part of the five-day convention that will feature writers, researchers, players and coaches from around the country. The convention begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday. For more information, visit sabr.org/convention.

Gilligan, who has been associated with Lamar as a player, assistant and head coach dating back to the 1960s, will be on the panel alongside seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens as well as Mike Gustafson, who serves as the executive director of the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

The panel will be moderated by Mike Vance, a Houston-based historian whose most recent book is Houston Baseball: The Early Years, 1861-1961.
