WO-C campuses announce orientation, meet the teacher, bus tag pick-up

West Orange – Cove campuses have scheduled orientations and other activities in advance of the start of school on Monday, Aug. 25.

West Orange – Stark Elementary School

West Orange – Stark Elementary will hold two “Meet the Teacher” events.

“Meet the Teacher” for kindergarten, first, and second grade students will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Third, fourth, and fifth grade students will attend “Meet the Teacher” on Thursday, Aug. 21.

Both sessions will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.; they will begin in the cafeteria.

Following an informational meeting, students and parents can visit classrooms.

Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies.

This year there is an important change regarding transportation.

Locations have changed.

Student drop off and pick up (car riders) will occur on the north side of the building.

Bus drop off and pick up will occur on the south side of the building.

West Orange – Stark Middle School

All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and their parents are invited to attend the West Orange – Stark Middle School Orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. It will be held in the Girls’ Gymnasium. During orientation, students and their parents can tour the building, meet the staff, and receive important start of school information. At 6:30 p.m. during Orientation, all students enrolled in gifted/talented and advanced classes, and their parents, are invited to attend a meeting regarding expectations and guidelines for participation in those courses.

Parents of seventh grade students are also asked to review student vaccination records to make certain that students are up-to-date on all requirements.

West Orange – Stark High School

Sophomore, Junior, and Senior grade level orientations are scheduled for Monday, August 18 in the cafeteria:

  • Seniors: 1:00 p.m.
  • Juniors: 2:00 p.m.
  • Sophomores: 3:00 p.m.

During the orientation, students will rotate through various stations. Once all stations have been completed, students may pick up their class schedule.

Freshman Orientation, for students and their parents, will be held the same afternoon, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. During Freshmen Orientation, administrators, counselors, and sponsors of various clubs will share information about their programs. During the orientation, students will also rotate through various stations. Once all stations have been completed, students may pick up their class schedule.

A parent/guardian must attend the High School orientation in order for the pre-registration process to be complete.

North Early Learning Center

Parents of students attending North Early Learning Center can pick up Bus Tags on Wednesday, Aug. 20 and Thursday, Aug. 21 from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Parents and students will also have a "Sneak A Peek" meet the teacher opportunity on Friday, Aug. 22 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
