Ruth Marie Jones, 82, of Kirbyville died Saturday, Aug. 16, at Jasper Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital

A native of Elton, La., she was a former resident of Vidor before moving to Kirbyville. Ruth was an LVN for Jasper Memorial Hospital for many years, she was a volunteer for the Pink Ladies after she retired from Jasper Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Magnolia Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

A gathering for family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Memorial Funeral Home.

Ruth is survived by her son David Morse and his wife Donna of Jasper; daughters Joan Morse of Mauriceville, and Lisa Morse of Kirbyville; daughter-in-law Delinda Morse of Vidor; sister Jeanette Muha of San Antonio; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Henry Morse, brother Charles Jeanis and sister Mary Davis.
