Bobby Gene Mitchell, 83, of Vidor, died Friday, Sept. 19.

He was born May 14, 1931, in Sedalia, Mo., to Lola Bare Mitchell and Clarence E. Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean conflict and retired from STI Group as a fabrication foreman.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Mitchell; children, Larry Dale Mitchell and Michael Lee Mitchell, both of Lumberton; Donna Lynn Parker of Vidor; Deborah Kay LeBoeuf of Lumberton; and Marie Rogers and her husband, Robert, of Vidor; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Donna Mitchell of Vidor.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marcella Mitchell; son, Bobby Mitchell; and grandchildren, Lonnie Mitchell and Bobby Gene Parker, III.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 22, at Broussard’s with interment to follow at Holland Cemetery, Kountze.
