Louis Aivors “Gator” Ausherman, 67, of Orange, passed away Sept. 22, at M.D. Anderson in Houston. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, Sept. 27, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Bell.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Traunstein, Germany on Oct. 25, 1946, he was the son of Donald Ausherman and Jane (Wealthy) Ausherman. Louis served in the Army Special Forces as a Green Beret during the Vietnam war. He was a member of the Amercan Legion Honor Guard, VFW Post 2775, and a member of Cove Baptist Church. Louis loved the Atlanta Braves, fishing, and anything with a flag or eagle on it. He also enjoyed singing country music in night clubs.

He was preceded in death by his mother; step-daughter, Tammy Lynn Bryan, and his aunt Nell Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Bryan) Ausherman of Orange; father, Donald Ausherman; step-children, James William Bryan, Jr. and wife, Vickie, Danny Jo Bryan and wife, Angie, and Cathy J. Roberts and husband, Allen, all of Mauriceville; son, Joe Losado of California; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one step-great-grandchild; and his uncle, Leon Harris of Alabama.
