Greg Staton, 64, of Bridge City, passed away at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, Saturday, Oct. 25.

He was born in Port Arthur, May 22, 1950, to Perry E. and Betty Staton. He has been a resident of the Bridge City area for over 17 years. He worked at Brock Enterprise, Chevron Phillips as a paint supervisor in the painting department for 40 years. "Killer" loved spending his time outdoors as he grew up as an avid hunter along side his grandfather, dad and brother. "Killer" continued this tradition with his son. He loved spending time outside drinking a cold beer, working in the yard and spending quality time with his cats.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

"Killer" is preceded in death by his grandparents, Perry A. and Dorothy Staton and John and Gertrude Salem.


He is survived by his wife, Sarah Staton of Bridge City; parents, Perry E. and Betty Staton of Nederland; son, Ben Staton of Port Arthur; step-son, Chad West of Knoxville, TN; brother, Gary Staton and wife Sandy of Bridge City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Kim Gold of Garwood, TX.
